Match ResultsWESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Otterbein University women's tennis team posted its eighth-straight win on Saturday in a 7-1 defeat of Albion (Mich.) inside the Clements Rec Center.
Otterbein (10-1 overall) closes out non-conference play with the win and will begin Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action next Wednesday at Muskingum. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. in New Concord, Ohio.
The Cardinal captured four of the five singles matches that were played and all three doubles competitions. One singles competition was cancelled due to time constraints for the men's tennis match against Albion that was scheduled to follow.
Junior
Rylie Markle picked up her 10th win in singles after defeating the Britons' Heather Vogt (7-5, 6-0) in the top spot for the Cards, and then improved to 4-3 in doubles alongside senior
Adrien Leatherwood as the two topped Vogt and Rasmussen (8-6).
Leatherwood also moved into a tie for the team-lead in singles wins after recording her 11th by taking down Rasmussen (6-2, 6-2).
Fellow senior
Megan Locke also recorded her 11th victory in singles play, edging Chrissy Gauss (6-2, 6-2). Sophomore
Emily Quill moved to a perfect 6-0 in singles after blanking Courtney Rogers (6-0, 6-0). Freshman
Sophie Allen battled Lauren Solano to a super-tiebreak set, falling 12-10 (7-5, 0-6).
