Match ResultsNEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Otterbein University women's tennis team boosted its win streak to nine-straight with a 9-0 defeat of Muskingum on Wednesday in the team's Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opener.
Otterbein (11-1 overall) begins league play with a win for the fifth-consecutive season and will now host Baldwin Wallace next Saturday in its next OAC matchup.
The Cardinal swept all six singles matches and all three doubles competitions, allowing just one point to the Muskies over the course of the afternoon. Junior
Rylie Markle picked up wins in the No. 1 singles and doubles spot for the Cards, improving to 11-6 on the year in solo matches while pairing with senior
Adrien Leatherwood to run their record as a duo to 7-3.
Leatherwood also won her singles match in the three spot, boosting her win total to 12-4. Fellow senior
Sammi Kruger saw her first action in singles play this spring, moving to 4-4 overall as the No. 2 and then improved to 3-0 alongside sophomore
Sophia Navas-Davis in No. 2 doubles over Muskingum's Nikola Burkhard and Kristen Chandler (8-1).
Senior Megan Locke posted her 12th win as the No. 4 player, while Navas-Davis tallied her 11th win of the season in No. 5 singles. Locke teamed up with freshman
Megan Yates to earn a win for the Cards in No. 3 doubles.
Sophomore
Emily Quill rounded out the Cardinal competitors with her seventh win of the season, this one coming in No. 6 singles play.
