Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Otterbein University men's lacrosse team used a 3-0 first quarter lead to fuel a 13-2 defeat of Adrian on Saturday afternoon at Docking Stadium.
Otterbein (4-4 overall) has now won three of its last four games and returns home for a non-conference matchup against Wooster next Wednesday at 8 p.m. under the lights at Memorial Stadium.
Senior
Robbie Guiliano was first to ink the scoreboard for the Cardinals, as he tallied one of his game-high six goals in less than five minutes into the first quarter. He is now two goals shy of becoming the all-time leader in goals scored in program history.
Fellow seniors
Connor Baak and
Alex Titus also got in on the scoring action for Otterbein in the early going, each posting a goal late in the opening period on assists from freshman
Joe Sanfillipo and Guiliano, respectively.
Guiliano netted his second score of the game at the 12:21 mark of the second quarter, coming off an assist by Baak. Adrian recorded its first goal of the game with 10:33 left in the half, narrowing the Cardinal lead to 4-1.
The Cards then strung together seven unanswered goals, scoring three in the final 7:30 of the first half and four over the first nine minutes of the third quarter. Baak and Guiliano tallied two goals apiece for the Cards in the third frame.
Otterbein surrendered one more goal to the Bulldogs late in the third quarter, before Guiliano and junior
Nick Tholt found the back of the net for consectuive goals to close out the game.
Sanfillipo finished with a game-high four assists, while also picking up four ground balls. Tholt posted three assists to go with his one score, while Baak and Guiliano finished the game with 12 points combined.

James Gundling picked up the win in goal for the Cards, saving 10 shots. Sophomore goalie
Matt Niemi recorded 15 minutes in goal, stopping five Bulldog shots.
