WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Otterbein University softball team is headed to its first-ever NCAA Division III Tournament this Friday with a matchup against Illinois Wesleyan at 1 p.m. at the regional, hosted by Alma (Mich.) College.
The Cardinals, currently ranked No. 25 in the latest national poll, earned an automatic bid to the 62-team NCAA Tourney after capturing the program's first Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament title this past Sunday after going 3-0 as the top-seed.
Illinois Wesleyan enters the tournament with a 31-12 record after winning the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) title last weekend to punch its sixth-straight ticket and 16th overall. Alma (27-8) and DePauw University (23-19) square off in the other regional game on Friday. A live video stream of each game will be made available through YouTube, courtesy of host Alma, with links posted on the Cards' schedule page.
