HIRAM, Ohio – The Otterbein men's soccer squad falls 2-1 at Hiram on Wednesday night in a non-conference match at Henry Field.

The Cardinals, now an even 2-2 overall on the season, will look to get back on the winning track as they return home for a four-game homestand beginning Saturday night against Grove City (Pa.) at 7 p.m.

Otterbein held a commanding 7-1 advantage in shots through the first 45 minutes of play, as neither team managed to find the back of the net in the initial frame.

All three goals between the two teams came in the final 35 minutes of action, as the Terriers were first to ink the scoreboard in the 66th minute off a shot from Quinn Galecki.

The Cardinals promptly responded to tie the game at one goal apiece less than three minutes later, earning a corner kick to which midfielder Pau Piang teamed with defender Jaden Lunger for a rare double-assist to setup defenseman Zach Lewis for his second goal of the year. 

The score stayed knotted at 1-1 for less than five minutes before Hiram's Taje Davis knocked in the game-winning goal off an assist from Giovanni Meza.

Lunger accounted for the only shot for the Cardinals over the final 18 minutes, heading a shot toward Terrier goalkeeper CJ Keith who collected the save.

Otterbein kept Keith, who totaled five saves, busy in goal all night with a 14-4 advantage in shots, owning a 6-2 mark in shots on goal. Cardinal goalkeeper Collin Hoffmann was handed the loss in goal to move to 2-2 on the season.
