GAMBIER, Ohio – The Cardinal women's tennis team made it five-straight wins on Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 shutout of Mount Vernon Nazarene on the road inside the Kenyon Athletic Center.
Otterbein (8-3 overall) has won three of its last five matches surrendering just one points to its opposition and now has a pair of shutouts on the season.
The Cards, with just one non-conference match left this year scheduled at Wittenberg in late-April, have a week off from competition to gear up for the opening of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play next Saturday at home against Mount Union. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
Otterbein got off to a fast start by sweeping doubles play, allowing just four total points to MVNU to open the match. Senior

Makayla Sutter teamed up for the first time this season in second doubles, taking down Sarah Higgins and Ashley Weber (8-0).

Jordyn Traxler won by the same count over Shelbi Keller and Aly Landis.
It continued to be all Cardinals as the match entered singles play, as they allowed just nine points total between the six flights with the Cougars claiming just one point in four of them.
Navas-Davis picked up the lone shutout with the defeat of Keller in fifth singles, while Bergman owned the top spot by a score of 6-1, 6-0 followed by sophomore
Megan Stuteville's victory by the same margin in the six spot.
Sutter, Allen and Briones wrapped up the dominant win by cruising past their respective opponents in second, third and fourth singles, respectively.
