Otterbein Defeats Muskingum to Boost Win Streak to Seven

Match Results

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Otterbein women's tennis team made it seven wins in a row on Thursday afternoon following a 9-0 defeat of Muskingum on the road in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action.

The Cardinals, now 10-3 overall on the season, boost their win total in league play to 2-0 with the current seven-match winning streak breaking last year's largest unbeaten streak of six. Otterbein will look to make it eight-straight victories Saturday when they face Heidelberg in an away match at 1 p.m.

Muskingum began the match down 3-0 already due to only having four active players on its starting roster, as third doubles became the first point awarded to Otterbein by default.

Sophomores Sydney Bergman and Makayla Sutter followed that 1-0 lead with an 8-0 victory in the top spot of doubles over Kristen Chandler and Sydney McDaniel before seniors Emily Quill and Sophia Navas-Davis made it 3-0 in favor of the Cards with another 8-0 win in the second spot.

It continued to be a clean sweep across the board for the Cardinals with fifth and sixth singles going to Otterbein by default, while first through fourth singles were all decided by a score line of 6-0, 6-0.
