WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein University softball team is scheduled to host its third-straight Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament in as many years this weekend at Rike Field.
The Cardinals, which earned the No. 1-seed in the tournament after capturing their third OAC regular-season title in-a-row last Saturday, will welcome Heidelberg, Ohio Northern and Muskingum to campus Friday for the opening day of competition. The winner of the four-team double-elimination tournament will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA D3 Tournament.
Friday's initial round will feature four games beginning with second-seeded Heidelberg (13-5) squaring off against third-seeded Ohio Northern (13-5) at 10 a.m. Top-seeded Otterbein (15-3) will then face fourth-seeded Muskingum (10-8) at approximately 12 p.m.
The winners from games one and two will then play at 2 p.m. followed by the non-winners from the first two contests concluding day one at 4 p.m. Saturday will feature two games starting at 11 a.m. with the non-winner from game three against the winner of game four, followed by the potential championship matchup at 1 p.m.
