WESTERVILLE, Ohio – A dominant bounce-back victory was in store for the Cardinal women's tennis program Saturday morning, as the Cardinals swept through visiting Capital during some "breakfast ball" action on campus.
Otterbein posted a 9-0 shutout against its cross-town rival, winning all courts very comfortably to get back in the win column. The Cards are now 2-1 on the spring season after a narrow mid-week loss to surging Ohio Northern.
The tandems of
Erin Storrer/
Rachelle Moses and
Madi Mueller/
Jordyn Traxler cruised through doubles action, dropping just one game, while the duo of
Rachel Ferguson and
Julia Gillin unfortunately did not have an opponent in either singles or doubles competition. They picked up default W's as a result.
Moses breezed to a sweep in singles action from the No. 4 position. Storrer (1) and Mueller (2) both quickly emerged by identical 6-0, 6-1 counts. Traxler went 6-2, 6-0 in the third spot.
Otterbein will be back on the court Wednesday afternoon at Marietta, with first serve slated for 3:30 p.m.
