NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Women's tennis finally hit the court Friday afternoon after over a year lay-off, posting a clean 9-0 sweep against Muskingum. The Cardinals dropped just three sets the entire afternoon, one in doubles and two in singles.
Otterbein posted dominant performances in doubles action with the combination of
Erin Storrer and
Rachelle Moses cruising to an 8-0 win.
Rachel Ferguson and
Julia Gillin joined their counterparts with an 8-0 win while the duo of
Madi Mueller and
Jordyn Traxler posted an 8-1 victory.
In singles action it was Storrer, Mueller, Traxler, Ferguson and Gillin all recording 6-0, 6-0 victories while Moses posted 6-1, 6-1 victories.
The Cardinals are now 1-0 on the season after their first week of action was cancelled at John Carroll due to poor court conditions.
The women will return to action on Wednesday with a home match against visiting Ohio Northern at 3:30 p.m.
