BW RESULTS
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein women's tennis team just kept on rolling Thursday afternoon in league action, as visiting Baldwin Wallace was unable to field enough points to keep pace with the high-flying Cards.
The host Cardinals won all courts for another shutout, remaining perfect within the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) at 5-0 and improving to a solid 14-3 overall.
Prior to blanking BW, Otterbein began the week with an initial 9-0 defeat over visiting Marietta. That match was played indoors due to poor weather in the area. The Cardinals beat the Pioneers in just a minute over two hours, only dropping three games in doubles and then just two in the singles portion.
A quick 24-hour turnaround saw Otterbein cruise over Baldwin Wallace in doubles action… taking the trio of courts on counts of 8-1, 8-1 and 8-0.
The Yellow Jackets (2-9, 1-1 OAC) were unable to field any momentum as singles play began, with the Cardinals securing all six matchups in straight sets.
Madi Mueller had to work the hardest on the fourth line but ultimately prevailed 7-5, 6-3.
Sophomore
Erin Storrer, reigning OAC Player of the Year, is now a combined 29-2 in dual matches this season with a big test ahead tomorrow against Kenyon.
The Cards now have a six-match winning streak as a team, outscoring the opposition by an aggregate total of 48-4 in the span.
Otterbein will travel over to Gambier on Good Friday with first serve at 4:30 p.m. The group then gets back into OAC play next Wednesday against John Carroll, also currently unbeaten within the league and a likely regular-season title on the line.
