WESTERVILLE – Otterbein freshman Jason Villalobos was named Ohio Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year to lead a list of six Cardinals earning All-OAC recognition for the 2024 men's soccer season, as selected by league coaches.

Villalobos was also named to the All-OAC First Team, joining a pair of teammates in senior forward Nick Isaac and graduate student defender Mark Wischmeyer.

Graduate student midfielder Drew Holman earned Second Team recognition, and graduate student forward Carter Ely and senior defender Hayden Vu were Third Team selections.

Villalobos has put together a standout freshman season, starting all 21 of the Cardinals' games and playing all but 13 minutes as a stalwart in goal. He ranks first in the OAC in goalie minutes with 1,896:43 and shutouts with 12, which is six more than any other goalkeeper in the league. He ranks second in the conference in wins (12), GAA (0.81) and save percentage (.809) and third in saves (72).

A four-time OAC Defensive Player of the Week this season, Villalobos was also named to the All-OAC Tournament Team for his performance in the Cardinals' run to the conference tournament championship. He recorded a combined 10 saves in that three-game span, including one on a last-second shot at Mount Union to preserve a 1-0 win in the championship game, and made a pair of penalty-kick stops to help the Cardinals advance past Ohio Northern in the semifinals.

Isaac, now a two-time All-OAC honoree after earning Second Team recognition last year, started all 21 games this season and was the Cardinals' top offensive player. He recorded 30 points on eight goals and 14 assists and had four game-winning goals to his credit. He leads the OAC in assists and is tied for the league lead in game-winning goals while ranking fifth in points and tied for sixth in goals.

Named OAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23, Isaac recorded his 14th assist of the season in the tournament win at Mount Union to surpass Rod Borah ('99) as the program's all-time record-holder for single-season assists. He joined Villalobos on the All-Tournament Team, combining for six points on one goal and four assists over three tournament games.

In two seasons at Otterbein after transferring from Ohio State, Isaac has 48 points on 14 goals and 20 assists in 38 games, including 37 starts.

Wischmeyer led an Otterbein defense that ranked first in the OAC in shutouts (12) and tied for the league lead in GAA (0.85) while ranking second in fewest goals allowed (18). He played in 20 games, making 19 starts, and contributed one goal offensively.

Now a three-time All-OAC selection after earning Third Team recognition in 2021 and First Team honors as the conference's Defender of the Year in 2023, Wischmeyer has 21 career points on six goals and nine assists in 78 games, including 76 starts.

Wischmeyer has become a well decorated student-athlete, highlighted by last year's College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team selection in becoming the Otterbein men's soccer program's first Academic All-American in over a decade. His career honors also include a pair of CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-OAC accolades and First Team All-Ohio and All-Region recognition.

Holman, who joined Villalobos and Isaac on the All-OAC Tournament Team this season, started all 21 games and recorded seven points on two goals and three assists in 2024.

Another Cardinal with a well decorated career, he is now a five-time All-OAC selection, adding First Team honors in 2021 and 2023, Second Team in 2022 and Honorable Mention in 2020-21. He is also a three-time All-Ohio selection (Second Team in 2021 and 2022, Third Team in 2023) and two-time CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-OAC honoree.

Ely joined Isaac as a top offensive contributor for the Cardinals this season, recording 17 points on seven goals and three assists. Earning his first All-OAC recognition, he ranks 10th in the OAC in points and is tied for ninth in goals.

In five seasons at Otterbein, Ely has career totals of 43 points, 16 goals and 11 assists in 87 games with 64 starts.

Vu, now a two-time All-OAC selection after earning Second Team honors last season, joined Wischmeyer as a significant presence on the Otterbein defense, playing in 18 games with 17 starts.

In 75 career games, including 60 starts, Vu has five points on two goals and one assist.

Under eighth-year head coach Jason Griffiths, the Cardinals boast an overall record of 12-6-3 this season and finished third in the OAC with a 6-3 mark in league play en route to winning the program's seventh OAC Tournament title and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. They will face No. 21 Washington & Lee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at site host Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md.
