WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein University junior forward
Maizie King represented her Cardinal squad on the 2023-24 All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Team in women's basketball Thursday morning, as voted on by coaches around the league.
King (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo HS) landed honorable mention status as one of 21 standouts across the OAC selected to one of three teams. It marks the first such honor in her college career.
The 6-foot forward played in every game for Otterbein this season, with all but two coming in the starting lineup. She averaged 9.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, leader the team in the latter and also ranking tenth in the OAC.
King, who was also Top 10 in the conference for blocks, led the Cardinals in minutes played this past winter and shot 39% from the field. Three double-doubles were achieved along the way including a monster effort of 23 points and 14 boards against Wilmington.
Brynn Serbin (Ohio Northern) repeated as OAC Player of the Year while Mount Union's Elizabeth Mason (Freshman of the Year) and Wilmington's Cassidy Lovett (Defensive Player of the Year) joined her as special-award winners.
