Wallace headlines seven All-OAC selections

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Seven members of the Otterbein University men's soccer team earned All-OAC accolades, as announced on Friday morning. Lincoln Wallace was named the OAC Freshman of the Year to lead the selections while also landing on the All-OAC First Team.

Wallace was joined by Nate Erre and Drew Boettcher on the First Team. Jason Villalobos, Nick Isaac, Aidan Stratmann and Alex Greene were Third Team honorees.

Wallace has enjoyed a monster freshman campaign, leading Otterbein with 13 goals and four assists. In last night's semifinal game, he scored and dished out an assist in the win. Four of his goals have been game-winners, as he has tallied at least one point in 14 of Otterbein's 18 matches.

Boettcher is the only Cardinal besides Wallace to start in all 18 matches, as the senior earned the honor for the first time in his career. A leader and steady presence in the midfield, Boettcher has scored four goals – three game-winners – and dished out four assists this season.

A graduate transfer, Erre has made an immediate impact at the center back position for the Cardinals. An incredible defender and leader, he has scored two goals, both in coming conference action.

Villalobos turned in an 8-2-5 record, stopping 45 shots on the year. With three clean sheets this year, Villalobos conceded just four goals in OAC competition. This is the second straight All-OAC award for the sophomore.

With seven goals and an Otterbein-leading eight assists, Issac notches his third straight All-OAC honor. Five of his eight assists have come in OAC play. In three seasons with the Cardinals he has contributed 81 points.

Stratmann, a junior, has been a force all season in the midfield. Starting 11 games, he has been a key reason to Otterbein's success on both sides of the ball.

Transferring to Otterbein this year, Greene has settled in nicely as an outside back and has been crucial to the back third. He has started in 17 of the 18 contests and scored his lone goal of the season against Baldwin Wallace.

After knocking off Wilmington 4-1 last night in the OAC Semifinals, the Cardinals will play Ohio Northern in the Championship match. Sunday's game is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Ada.
