MARIETTA — Junior Colin Bibler posted a top-five finish to lead the Otterbein men's golf team to a third-place showing at the two-day Marietta Pioneer Classic on Saturday and Sunday to open its spring schedule.

The Tournament

• Otterbein posted a score of 308 (+28) on the first day and 301 (+21) on the second, ending with a two-day total of 609 (+49) to finish third of seven teams.
• Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) won the team title with a 34-over-par 594 (309-285). Marietta was second with a 38-over-par 598 (297-301).
• W&J's William Ainsworth earned individual medalist honors with an even-par 140 (75-65).

Otterbein Individual Results

• Bibler led Otterbein with a fifth-place finish in the 43-man field with a 9-over-par 149 (76-73).
• Junior Jake Morgan tied for ninth with a 12-over-par 152 (79-73).
• Junior Carter Woodward was right behind in 11th place with a 13-over-par 153 (77-76).
• Freshman Noah Huard tied for 15th with a 15-over-par 155 (76-79).
• Junior Ian Morgan rounded out the Otterbein starting five, tying for 31st with a 28-over-par 168 (84-84).
• Playing as an individual, sophomore Nick McMullen tied for 22nd with a 19-over-par 159 (80-79).

Notables

• Entering the weekend, Jake Morgan (75.7) and Ian Morgan (76.3) led the Cardinals in 18-hole scoring averages among those with at least 10 rounds played this season.
• Both Jake Morgan and Ian Morgan entered the weekend with a season-best 18-hole score of 69.
• Jake Morgan, Quinn Gallagher and Carter Woodward are reigning All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorees.
• Otterbein has won eight OAC championships in the last nine seasons.
