Men's Golf wins Wooster Nye Intercollegiate

WOOSTER— The Otterbein men's golf team won the 12-team Wooster Nye Intercollegiate, a two-round tournament played on Sunday and Monday. The Cardinals finished with three golfers in the top 10 of the individual leaderboard.

The Basics The Tournament
  • Otterbein won the team title with a 35-over-par 611 (309-302) to lead the 12-team field. Marietta was second with a 47-over-par 623 (309-314), and Wooster was third with a 50-over-par 626 (315-311).
  • Mount Aloysius' Josh Nicholl earned individual medalist honors by one stroke with a 3-over-par 147 (75-72).

  • Junior Jake Morgan led the Cardinals, tying for third in the 75-man field with a 5-over-par 149 (75-74).
  • Junior Ian Morgan tied for fifth with a 7-over-par 151 (76-75).
  • Junior Colin Bibler tied for ninth with a 9-over-par 153 (75-78).
  • Junior Carter Woodward tied for 23rd with a 15-over-par 159 (83-76).
  • Sophomore Clay Bruning tied for 34th with an 18-over-par 162 (85-77).

  • Entering the weekend, Jake Morgan (75.1) and Carter Woodward (75.7) led the Cardinals in 18-hole scoring averages among those with at least 15 rounds played this season.
