WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The No. 3-seeded Otterbein women's tennis team powered to a 5-0 win over sixth-seeded Capital on Tuesday afternoon in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament quarterfinal match out at the Sanders Tennis Courts.

The Cardinals, which advance to their 12th consecutive OAC Tournament semifinals, will face second-seeded Ohio Northern on Friday at 10 a.m. Should the match be moved indoors due to weather, it will be played at the South Regency Tennis Center in nearby Miamisburg, Ohio, starting at 11 a.m. Any updates causing the matches to be moved or postponed will be announced accordingly on the team's schedule page.

Full coverage of the OAC Tournament semifinals and championship match at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, this Friday and Saturday can be found via the tournament page link at the top of the recap and on the team's schedule page.

Otterbein (15-5 overall) made quick work of its cross-town rival, surrendering just two games total between the three matches played in doubles to kick off the contest.

Sophomores Sydney Bergman and Makayla Suter tallied the lone shutout in the top spot with an 8-0 defeat of Capital's Madison Watt and Ashlee Freeman, bumping their win total to 13 on the year as a duo.

Seniors Emily Quill and Sophia Navas-Davis then added to their team-best doubles total now at 16 wins on the year in the second spot (8-1), while junior Megan Yates and freshman Jordyn Traxler teamed up for the same margin of victory as the No. 3.

A 3-0 advantage for Otterbein required just two more points to clinch the match, and that it did in swift fashion as sophomore Megan Stuteville cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win in the six spot over the Crusaders' Katie Woods, before Navas-Davis made it 16-straight victories at the No. 5-spot with a clean sweep of Julia Holt.
