Isaac Named OAC Offensive Player of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein University junior forward Will Isaac (Grove City/Grove City) has been voted Ohio Athletic Conference 'Offensive Player of the Week' in men's soccer, announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Isaac becomes the second Cardinal to earn the award this season after teammate Silver Abraham also corralled the status recently.

Otterbein remain unbeaten this past week, beginning with a wild 2-2 draw against No. 8-ranked Ohio Wesleyan on a rainy day at Memorial Stadium. Isaac scored within the first six minutes and then, with his team later trailing, netted a huge equalizer at the 85:48 mark that forced an eventual deadlock.

He culminated the week in style, assisting the game-winning score at Adrian and then adding an insurance goal of his own later on in the 3-0 victory. Isaac is now tied for the conference lead in scoring at 15 total points.

Otterbein, ranked No. 19 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, will take its 6-0-1 record to nearby Denison this coming Wednesday night for the final non-conference match. The Cards are scheduled to launch OAC play on Saturday at Mount Union.
